His mother, Joyce, and the town's police chief, Jim Hopper, are looking for Will. At the same time, Eleven, a young psychokinetic, escapes from the laboratory and helps Mike, Dustin and Lucas, to find his friend Will.

The second season takes place a year later. Will was rescued, but few know the details of the events. When it is discovered that Will is still being influenced by Upside Down entities, his friends and family discover that there is an even greater threat to his universe from the Upside Down.
